Lauren trained as an actress, dancer and performer in the UK before relocating to Buenos Aires, where she studied film production at SICA and co-founded Flow Altas Wachas, a performance-dance collective that became a landmark of Argentine urban culture, fusing fashion, movement and film into an innovative artistic brand. Now based in Berlin, she works as a director, producer and movement artist, her practice moving through urbanisation, contrasting cultures and the body as a site of alchemy.
Berglind trained as a clinical psychologist before turning to film as the truer instrument for collective introspection. Her films have screened at festivals worldwide and her performance work has shown at the ICA London. She is a recent alumna of the directing programme at the DFFB in Berlin, where her practice weaves together myth, the female body and the psychological architecture of how we understand ourselves and each other.
As Tender Beasts, they bring together the intellectual and the instinctual, the dreamy and the exact. Their work is shaped by deep female roots, a shared belief in film as a sensual and embodied medium, and the kind of creative intuition that comes from years of serious, wide-ranging practice. They make works that ask audiences not just to watch, but to feel... to find themselves, unexpectedly, changed.
